This single-origin medium+ roast from Giraldo, Colombia, is an ode to the beginning of Zwarte Roes. It's how it all began in late 2017 and how we believe an espresso should be. This washed Colombian roast delivers a clean, strong-bodied coffee that holds its own neat or with milk. The finish is full of chocolate and red fruit notes that linger hours later, leaving you wondering why you got out of bed.

By drinking this future-proof coffee, you contribute to improving the living conditions of coffee producers and their children.

The story

The region is traditionally a guerrilla area, which has made it inaccessible for decades. The conflict has lasted about 60 years and the local population has suffered greatly.

Our importer settled here in 2018 and campaigned for better education and coffee prices for coffee farmers. This has contributed to more stable incomes in the region and a positive outlook for the future.
