The story

Coko (CHO-co) is a well-known coffee washing station in the Gakenke District. It is managed by the Twongerekawa Coko cooperative, made up of mostly women. What makes this coffee so special is the unusually high altitude (2000+ masl) at which the beans grow. As a result, they ripen slowly and have a wonderfully sweet taste with hints of ripe citrus fruits.

The popularity of Coco coffee has grown enormously among European coffee roasters in recent years. This has led to a 40% increase in sales since 2014!

The coffee is organically produced.

Lekker fruitig

Lekker fruitige koffie, maar zonder erg zuur te zijn. Tijdens het afkoelen ontdek je ook steeds weer andere smaken, en ook als cold brew bleek deze koffie goed te werken. Gezet met de Abaca V60 filters en de Hario cold brew fles.

Helaas ook niet bijzonder

Vol verwachting, maar valt voor mij in de categorie 'gewone' koffie. De aardbei, ananas en papaya moet je er maar zelf bij kopen haha. Ik zou bijna denken dat dit een espresso roast is. Ook deze staat in schril contrast met de TIKI PUNCH COLOMBIA.

Kan beter

Op de site staat dat deze koffie een "smaakprofiel van aardbei, ananas en papaya" zou hebben, maar daar is bij het bereiden van deze koffie weinig van te merken. Normaal knallen de geuren van een natural uit je kopje, maar daar is bij deze helaas weinig van te merken.
