Then read our article about latte art for dummies . Are you ready?
Ingredients
Okay, for this taste sensation we're not just going to throw a little popcorn in the air. This requires a few special ingredients that will make your latte a real star.
- Fresh espresso or strong coffee (60 ml)
- Popcorn (a handful... or two, who's to stop you?)
- Milk (240 ml)
- Sugar or other sweetener (1 tablespoon)
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
Just imagine: you smell that fresh coffee and then it mixes with the sweet popcorn smell. Sounds like a dream? Not really for me, but hey, let's go for it. You only live once!
- Start brewing your espresso.
- Pop your popcorn now. Do it in the microwave, a pan or with one of those cool old-fashioned poppers.
- In the meantime, froth your milk.
- Add your popcorn to the milk and let it steep for a minute or two. Yes, this is the secret...
- Take a sieve and pour the milk into another container.
- Add the sugar to a nice latte glass.
- Now pour the espresso over the sugar and then add the popcorn milk.
- Top it off with a few popcorn pieces. Yes, it is a popcorn latte after all!
Tips
- Are you adventurous? Caramelize some popcorn for that extra "wow" factor.
- Not fond of sugar? Honey or agave syrup are wonderful matchmakers for this latte.
- Experiment with milk alternatives such as almond or coconut milk for a new dimension of pleasure.
- Make the iced popcorn latte variant as you see in this video:
Conclusion
There you go, the popcorn latte. Easy, right? If I'm being completely honest, I don't like it at all, but hey, if you don't try... I'm not really into milk coffees anyway, if I'm being completely honest. I prefer a nice V60 coffee or a creamy espresso. But if you really like sweet, milky coffees, you can definitely give this one a try.
Will you let me know how it was?
